Ruhr District Tour 24 Cycling between gasometer and iron works
Small biking tour to the highlights of the Ruhr area
Starting point of this bicycle tour is the Haus Ripshorst in Oberhausen. From there the jouney leads through the wood garden and along the the Rhine-Herne-Canal to the direction of the Landscape Park Duisburg-North. On the way you will pass the CentrO, Gasometer Oberhausen and the OLGA Park. The tour guide will bring history and stories along the route to life and direct you through the region on enchanted ways.
The most monumental ensemble on the "route of industrial culture", the Landscape Park Duisburg-North, will impress you not only by its tremendous industrial scenery but also by the immense biodiversity which can be found there. After an extensive round trip you will bike back along the canal to Haus Ripshorst.
This tour is just 23 km long and can be recommended also to untrained bikers as there are no noteworthy gradients to negotiate.
